Description

Under the direction of the Facilities Engineering Manager, the Facilities Tech will work as an individual, with the team, with other teams and contractors to complete tasks, projects, and perform proactive, reactive, preventative maintenance and repairs that uphold our standards and model our department and company values.

Responsibilities:

 Facilities Tech will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of, but not limited to:

  • Central Plant Equipment – Chillers, Boilers, Heat Pumps, Pumps.

  • HVAC Systems & Fans - Fan Coils, Air Handling Units, VAV’s, Hydronics and Refrigeration, Air movement and distribution, Heating/Cooling coils, Exhaust Fans, Belt driven, direct drive, controls, valves, actuators.

  • Refrigeration Systems – CRAC Units & Data Center/IDF Air Handling, Split systems, heat pumps.

  • Mechanical Plumbing Systems - Heating/Cooling and Condenser pumps, coils, pump rebuilds, motor bearing Replacements, cooling towers, water filtration and treatment.

  • Plumbing – Piping & Distribution, fixtures, valves.

  • Electrical and Lighting Systems & Equipment – Electrical distribution, high and low voltage, equipment and mechanical system components, control circuits, relays, contactors, overloads, limit switches, VFD’s, ballasts, wiring, motors.

  • Commercial Kitchen Equipment – Gas appliances and components such as Ovens, Griddles, Fryers, pilot valves, pilot adjustment, thermostat calibrations, refrigerators, freezers, icemakers, walk-ins and reach-ins, grease traps.

  • Building Hardware – Doors, locks, windows, garage doors & roll up doors.

  • Pool & Spa – Chemical balance, cleaning, filters, pumps, boilers, treatment.

  • Potable water – Distribution, testing, chemical treatment, storage.

  • Equipment - Elevators, UPS’, generators, life safety systems, fire pumps.

 

Facilities Tech will be expected to:

  • Manage their time and productivity efficiently.

  • Proactively find work orders and improvements.

  • Compile quotes from vendors for material purchases, coordinates vendors and contractors accordingly.

  • Monitor & adjust building automation schedules for maximum efficiency.

  • Participate in the 24/7 on-call rotation and provide onsite and/or remote after-hours support and monitoring as needed.

  • Participate in event shift rotations as needed – Events require early day shifts and late switch shifts.  Shifts will rotate.

  • Work OT and weekends if needed.

  • Labor support to Ranch Services and Events as needed.

  • Model department and company values.

  • Complete regularly assigned safety trainings.

  • Willingness to learn & improve upon their skillsets.

Requirements

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • On Call 24/7 work environment.

  • Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry minimum 50lbs

  • Ability to bend, squat, stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch/crawl daily

  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods.

Education / Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • 4 years of formal training in operations engineering.

  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in Building Engineering/Maintenance.

Required Skills / Competencies:

  • Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Required to work overtime as needed.

  • Ability to perform data entry and work with facilities-related software.

  • Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proven ability to interact effectively within a department and outside the organization.

  • CFC License for handling refrigerants.

  • Working Knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Preferred Skills / Competencies:

  • CPO Certification

  • OSHA Certifications

  • Potable water Treatment and/or Distribution licenses

Technical Skills:

  • Central plant operations – Chillers, Heat Pumps, Boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, motors, fans.

  • Operation of potable and reclaimed water systems

  • CMMS Systems – Work order tracking and management.

  • Building Automation System navigation, troubleshooting and diagnosis – Alerton preferred.

  • OSHA Safety regulations and guidelines.

$90,000 - $105,000 annually, plus OT
